NATALIE: Here’s an odd coincidence: When the ladies go to visit Caroline’s father in prison, Max runs into an ex… who’s doing seven to 10 years for attempted murder. Let’s just hope he doesn’t break out of prison, because he might be really jealous of the guy Max meets — and hooks up with — when the ladies get a job house-sitting.
TVLine.com has put together some important news and scoop from the CBS TCA panel which happened today, and a lot involves “2 Broke Girls”!
* 2 Broke Girls: Series creator Michael Patrick King made no apologies for the show’s low-brow humor during a needlessly combative, painfully tense, frequently awkward 25-minute tussle with reporters. “The show is sophisticated and naughty and I think everyone likes a good naughty joke,” he argued. “I feel no need to pull away from the brand of 2 Broke Girls, which is basically ballsy, in your face and hopefully funny.”
* 2 Broke Girls: Don’t look for Max and Caroline to get a sudden influx of cash and open their dream cupcake bakery anytime soon. “One of the important realities of 2 Broke Girls is the word broke,” said King. “And we try to deal [realistically] with how much money moves through their life. I don’t foresee a way the girls could raise $350,000 in a season [and open a bakery]. I don’t foresee them leaving the diner. I like them in the diner.”
* 2 Broke Girls: Regarding the at times very strong chemistry between Max and Caroline, King said, “We make nothing but jokes about [lesbians]; we’re building a love story, not a sexual love story.”
* 2 Broke Girls: Elaborating on the previously announced cast of Jennifer Coolidge, who makes her debut on Jan. 16, King said, “[She] is joining us for a whole bunch of episodes playing a character named Sophie Kerchinsky, a hard-working Polish woman who lives upstairs [from Max and Caroline].”

Well we already had Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs personally show you around the set, but I guess since you asked so nicely we can give you a lil’ more. In episode 15 the girls come across an Abercrombie & Fitch model who is tall, dark and completely unconscious. So in an effort to be heroic, Caroline gives him some pretty intense shock therapy by punching him in the gut as hard as she can! But is this the making of a modern-day fairy tale? Nope, he just gets super pissed. And rightfully so, we think.

Uh-oh! We don’t wanna burst your bubble, but when the season returns next year, there is one episode that might bring your happiness waaaay down. Someone close to Max ends up in the hospital and while she is busy threatening anyone near her with physical violence, Caroline is flirting with the doctor (and old fling from back in the day) into getting the patient V.I.P. treatment. Let’s hope that [spoiler alert] is going to be okay!

stardustMH: I’m loving 2 Broke Girls, Can you tell me if Max is going to be hooking up with Johnny or if he is coming back for more eps?
We’re loving it, too! Now that we’re best friends forever, we’ll share some of our hopes and dreams with you. We are still hoping that Max (Kat Dennings) and Johnny (Nick Zano) will still find a way to work things out and become the cutest, snarkiest couple on CBS. But when we were recently on the set of 2 Broke Girls, Kat Dennings told us they’re keeping Max’s love life, “very hush-hush.” Don’t fret, because we’ll get to the bottom of this and let you know in time for their mid-season finale next week.
